December 2008 - With 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, David Booth joins Waveguide as the CAD/GIS Manager.
Booth began his career as a CAD Manager in the university setting working for the Telecommunications department at the University of California Santa Barbara, and next as a CAD Specialist with the Physical Plant department at MIT in Cambridge. Booth designed, maintained and administered CAD systems, standards, and equipment for a variety of disciplines including; telecommunications, architectural/MEP, and civil engineering. Using CAD/GIS, database and imaging technologies, Booth created and provided access to drawings and associated data of campus infrastructure and utilities for design and construction teams, consultants, architects and engineers.
Booth later joined RCN as the CAD/Project Manager for the Boston market. For the next nine years he was responsible for developing and administering the CAD/GIS programs and mapping deliverables for the construction and maintenance of the RCN HFC (hybrid fiber-coax) plant in the Boston metro area. Booth has continued to focus on finding, using and developing the best available mapping technologies for the telecommunications industry and for fiber optic/coax construction. Some of these systems include; AutoCAD Map, ESRI ArcView, Lode Data Fiber Manager and Trimble GPS systems.
Booth served in the United States Coast Guard as a Telecommunications Specialist and then went on to graduate from Northeastern University summa cum laude with a B.S. in Technical Communications in 2002.
